 Rose Dartez was the grand prize winner in our adult version of "What I want to be and Why" contest. Next time you see Rose, ask her what appliance in the Dartez home best resembles her!
Past President Paul Bourgeois hosted a social for new Rotarians to learn more about Rotary. Past President & Club Historian Lloyd Dore' provided the mentoring to a group of outstanding new Rotarians. A special THANK YOU goes out to Sarah & Paul for being gracious hosts for this event. It is expected that there will be future events such as this to help your Rotarians learn more about their role in Rotary.
President Mark Shirley is shown presenting a check for $2,000 to Curnal Cessac to assist the Esther Community Cemetery Board in the repair of graves damaged from Hurricane Rita. Rotarians Russell Frederick, Mike Couvillion, Glenn Suire and Past President Paul Bourgeois were on had for the presentation.
The Rotary Club of Abbeville held its installation banquet on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at The Riverfront Restaurant. District Governor Don Chauvin installed the following officers for the 2006-2007 Rotary year which begins July 1: L/R Whit Atchetee'- International Service Director, Toby Edwards - Program Chair, Paul Bourgeois - Immediate Past President, Raymond Gagne - Treasurer, Jules Hebert - Community Service Director, Mark Shirley - President, Jim Russo - Secretary, Richard Primeaux - President-Elect, and Charles Dill, Vocational Service Director.
 Rotary Club of Abbeville President Paul Bourqeois presented a donation to Wayne Mouton of the Erath Volunteer Fire Department to replace equipment destroyed by Hurricane Rita. Rotarians Mark Shirley and Jules Hebert join in the presentation. The contribution was made possible through a grand funded by The Rotary District 6200 Foundation.
 Congratulations to Rotarian Jim Russo upon being named ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR by President Deborah Parsons for the 2004-2005 Rotary year! President Deborah presented Jim his award at the club's installation banquet which was held at the Riverfront Restaurant on June 29, 2005. Jim is one of the outstanding new Rotarians in our Abbeville club who has learned the true meaning of SERVICE Above Self.
