🎄 IMPORTANT PARADE GUIDELINES

To help keep Santa’s Lighted Christmas Parade safe, organized and enjoyable for everyone, the City asks all parade participants to follow these guidelines:

PERFORMERS & DANCE TEAMS
Dance teams, marching groups and similar performing entries may not stop freely along the parade route. Performances may stop for a maximum of 2 minutes at each of these three designated locations:

• Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office (VPSO)
• West side of Magdalen Square — between the Square and St. Mary Magdalen Church
• Judging Area — Washington Street & Vermilion Street

Performing groups should remain compact and together rather than spreading out over a large portion of the parade route.

FLOATS & PARADE ENTRIES
• Floats should not exceed 60 feet in length.
• Each parade entry is responsible for cleaning its staging/lineup area before departing.

PLEASE DO NOT THROW SOFT CANDY
For safety and cleanup concerns, the City asks that soft candy not be thrown from parade entries.

​

🚫 NO CONFETTI — OF ANY KIND
Confetti is not permitted in the parade or staging area.
