"There are three Rotary Clubs in Napa

My husband and I recently went to Napa Valley to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary!

It seems like wherever I go I am always going to see the Rotary Touch. I like to call it that, because to me, Rotary touches lives and communities in so many ways. I take pictures like the ones here and many more like it wherever we travel as a reminder of the reasons why I joined Rotary. Service above self, people of action, and this year’s Rotary International Theme “Serve to Change Lives” are just a few of the statements that hold true to Rotary.

On this trip I learned there are three Rotary Clubs local to Napa and many more in the surrounding area. Some are open to meetings, and some are still Zooming their meetings. Regardless they are all still doing wonderful things in their communities. I can attend a meeting at any one of these clubs at any time and anywhere.  How Wonderful is that!

WELCOME to the Rotary Club of Abbeville, LA website. Our club was established on November 18, 1936 and has been serving our community for over 85 Years! We currently have 57 Rotarians in our club and growing. Rotary is a “worldwide organization that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps to build goodwill and peace in the world”.

The theme chosen by 2021-2022 Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta is “Serve to Change Lives” he urges members to become more involved in-service projects, saying that caring for and serving others is the best way to live because it changes not only other people’s lives, but also our own. Rotary Club of Abbeville is committed to realizing this purpose by supporting the humanitarian endeavors of Rotary International, including the Rotary Foundation’s goal of eliminating Polio worldwide.

I am thankful for the opportunity to lead our club and serve as President for the 2021-2022 year in a club with such rich heritage and history in the community. Each of our former Presidents has brought new ideas and visions to our club and my goal will be to continue that tradition. We can all be proud of our club’s 85 years of accomplishments. Our club is comprised of many talented and dedicated Rotarians, which makes us a strong club. I feel fortunate to be able to look to those members for inspiration and advice.

Rotary Club of Abbeville has many events during the year, including St. Pat’s Comedy for a Cause which is our major fund raiser. Other fundraisers include Sip, Savor and Support, Annual Po-Boy Sale, Scare in the Square and many other events that give back to our Community.

Our Club meets every Wednesday 12:00 noon at the American Legion Hall in Abbeville, LA. If you are a visiting Rotarian, please join us for our weekly meeting. If you are interested in learning more about Rotary, contact me or come to a meeting, as my guest.  You will not be disappointed. This website will assist you in finding information concerning meetings, programs, future events, and contacts.
